The Liverpool manager shocked football fans on Friday when he said he would be leaving Anfield in May after nine years, even though he still had two years left on his contract.

Klopp, 56, said he was quitting because he was “running out of energy,” and he hinted that he might never be good at football again. The German wasn’t sure what he would do after leaving Liverpool, but he could relax in his mansion in the Mediterranean if he wanted to take a break from football.

Mark Lawrenson, a former Liverpool defender and commentator, thinks Klopp is going to move to Mallorca with his wife Ulla.”I don’t know if I should tell you this, but it’s not a big secret.” A lawyer for him told Off the Ball earlier this week, “He’s having a house built in Mallorca.”

“I have a house not far from where he’s building his.” He told Ulla, his wife, “The bloody thing’s not even ready yet, and I’m paying all the bills!” Ulla is in charge of everything in that case. He’s probably going to hide out there for a while, I think.

Klopp bought the 5,000-square-meter home in Mallorca from Swiss investor and artist Rolf Knie in June 2022 for €4m (£3.4m). He plans to rebuild the whole thing from scratch.

The heating and cooling systems are linked together, according to Bild, Klopp has turned the villa into a low-energy house.

A computer controls both systems to keep the house at the same temperature no matter what the weather is like outside.

Bild adds that all electrical appliances and gadgets are controlled by a main system that Klopp can access from his phone.

The setup is meant to cut down on power use by up to 75%, and a brand-new, cutting-edge irrigation system is meant to know when it needs to be used. The ‘Son Bunyola’ hotel, which is owned by British billionaire Richard Branson, hired the same company to create the garden for this property.

Klopp is thought to stay at a nearby hotel when he comes to the island, but that will change once the renovations are done.

Lawrenson said it would be well worth the wait, even though the work is still going on.

“I can tell you right now that it’s not a nice gaff; it’s a fabulous gaff.” “It’s amazing, this is really amazing,” Lawrenson said.

Klopp won the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup, and the Carabao Cup in nine very successful years at Anfield. The Premier League is in shock as he leaves.

Klopp told Liverpool on Friday in a video message, “I will leave the club at the end of the season.”

“I can see why it’s shocking for a lot of people right now, when they hear it for the first time. But I can explain it, or at least I guess I can.”

The reason is that I’m, how do I put it, tired. I’m fine now; I’ve known for a while that I would have to say it at some point, but I’m fine now.

“I know I can’t do this job over and over and over again.”
