🚨 Real Madrid are interested in signing Varane.

Reports say that Rafael Varane is being set up for a surprise return to Real Madrid.

The 30-year-old French defender played at the Bernabeu for ten years, from 2011 to 2021.

Before signing a four-year deal with Manchester United for £34 million, he won 18 prizes, including four Champions Leagues.

But Varane might be on his way back to the big Spanish team now.

The 14-time European winners have a lot of back injuries.

Because of this, Los Blancos have begun looking for backup cover.

Bild says that one of their main goals is Varane.

The winner of the World Cup has fallen down the Old Trafford hierarchy this season and is on the transfer list because Saudi Arabia wants to sign him.

Erik ten Hag likes Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, and even Jonny Evans more right now.

Because of that, Varane has only played 430 minutes in Premier League games.

Since he was sent away for no reason, Madrid might call him when the transfer market opens again in January.

Eder Militao had surgery in August to fix a torn ACL, and this past weekend, David Alaba, another center back, hurt his knee in the same terrible way.

That means that only Antonio Rudiger and Nacho are still healthy central defenders.

This season, both Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, two French midfielders, have played in defense at times.

But they can’t play right now because they hurt ligaments in their knees and broke their feet.

Also, Carlo Ancelotti is missing Vinicius Junior, and Thibaut Courtois, the goalie, will likely miss the whole season and Euro 2024 after tearing his ACL.
