It’s now very important for the team to find a left back since Sergio Reguilon left this week.

SunSport has learned that Manchester United has sent a scout to closely watch Girona’s 22-year-old left back Miguel Gutierrez play several times in the last few weeks, including yesterday’s 4-3 thriller against Atletico Madrid.

Gutierrez was very important to the team’s late win over Madrid as they continue their fairy tale title bid.

Snce the start of the season, Gutierrez has played in 20 games for Girona’s first team.

He has scored one goal and set up three others in that time.

He has also played every minute of every game for the team this season, missing only one.

Gutierrez came up through Real Madrid’s youth program and has played nine times in the league for Los Blancos.

He joined Girona in the summer of 2022 and has since shown that he is one of the best full backs in the league. His play this season alone makes him the best in the division.

SunSport has been told that the Red Devils really like Gutierrez because he is smart about football and likes to attack.

AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund have also been interested in him because of how good he is. In the summer, the Germans made an offer of £10.5 million, but it was turned down.

The defender’s deal with Girona ends in June 2027, but the team could be persuaded to let him go for £22 million.

Madrid still has control over the young player’s future, though, as they own 50% of his rights and have a sell-on option.

It would be easy for Real Madrid to bring Gutierrez back to their team if they matched United’s offer, or they could buy him back to sell at a profit.

Getting Gutierrez back would also help them in the sports world, since they are currently tied with Girona for first place in La Liga with the same number of points.
