Sadio Mane is reportedly living apart from his 19-year-old wife, Aisha Tamba, after the couple tied the knot in a grand ceremony in January.

The Senegalese international, aged 31, tied the knot with Tamba in a traditional ceremony arranged by their families in Senegal, in a union that instantly became the talk of the town due to the significant age gap between the newlyweds.

Aisha Tamba, who was 18 at the time of their marriage, is currently focusing on her education, preparing for key exams scheduled for the summer.

This academic commitment has led to the couple’s decision to live separately, with Tamba staying in Senegal while Mane continues his professional commitments in Saudi Arabia, playing for Al-Nassr.

According to GBN Britain’s news channel, the arrangement is temporary, with plans for Tamba to move to Saudi Arabia once her examinations are completed.

“The pair aren’t currently living together in Saudi Arabia. And that’s because Aisha is studying for some ‘key exams’ in the summer.

Once they’re out of the way, it’s possible the 19-year-old will jet out to the Middle East to join Mane in Saudi Arabia,” the news channel reported.

This has sparked a mix of reactions, with many supporting the couple’s decision to prioritize Tamba’s education, while others speculate about the challenges of maintaining a relationship across continents.

Mane joined Al Nassr in August 2023 in a move that came after an “underwhelming stint” at Bayern Munich, where expectations were high but results were mixed.

Despite scoring 12 goals in 38 matches for the Bundesliga team, Mane’s performance was deemed not up to par, leading to his move.

Prior to his time in Germany, Mane had established himself as a formidable force in the Premier League, with successful spells at Southampton and Liverpool.

At Liverpool, he was an integral part of a dynamic trio alongside Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, contributing to the team’s triumphs in the Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup, and Champions League.

Aisha Tamba, born in Casamance, shares a close geographical and cultural connection with Mane, with both hailing from neighboring towns in Senegal.

The daughter of an architect, Tamba speaks Mandingo, the native language of her husband, further deepening their bond.

Their relationship began under the watchful eyes of their families, with Mane expressing his interest in Tamba through family intermediaries when she was just 16, a respectful gesture given her age at the time.
