Chelsea’s early penalty claim was turned down by referee Paul Tierney. After that, Liverpool dominated the game and could have been 3-0 up at halftime if Darwin Nunez hadn’t missed a penalty. He hit the post four times during the game, which set a new Premier League record. Diogo Jota, Dominik Szoboszlai, Luis Diaz, and “man of the match” Conor Bradley scored goals to give Jurgen Klopp’s team their fifth straight Premier League win. It was a big win because on Wednesday, title foes Manchester City also easily beat Burnley.
In the days after he said he was going at the end of the season, it became clearer that Jurgen Klopp wanted something to take his mind off of how much attention English football was focused on his departure. He got a shot of it at Anfield on Wednesday night.

It came in the form of a 20-year-old player named Conor Bradley. Bradley is full of energy, skill, positivity, and love for the game, and he is the perfect personification of the themes of renewal and hope that are running through Anfield this season.

Fans of the club have spent a lot of time lately praising Klopp’s past and enjoying his present. Bradley, on the other hand, shows what the manager is leaving the fans who worship him on the red half of Merseyside in terms of the future.Liverpool dominated this 4-1 win over a usually bad and boring Chelsea team, which gave them a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table. The whole team should be praised.

But Bradley stood out because of something about him: his confidence as a young man, his brio, and his excitement. It all became clear five minutes before halftime when he ran on to a pass just inside the Chelsea half and went for the goal. From 20 yards out, he hit a shot across Djordje Petrovic that fizzed and whirred past the Chelsea goalkeeper’s desperate right hand. No one was going to catch him. It was like a star was born at that moment.

Bradley had a great party. Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of the best players in the league, but he wasn’t starting anyway. Now, as he waited for play to start again, the crowd started singing. They yelled, “There’s only one Conor Bradley!” There has been a lot of worry at Liverpool since Klopp’s announcement, but this game was a party.

There was a party to honor everything Klopp has done here, the memory he is leaving, and the season he is planning for this year as he leaves Liverpool. Chelsea were just blown away. The last seven times these two sides played, the score was a tie. Liverpool were way too good in this practice game for the Carabao Cup Final for that to happen again.

Ever since it was announced that Klopp would be leaving, he has spent a lot of time avoiding questions about how the club and its players would do without him. There have been some fires, which was bound to happen, and Klopp has put them out with a lot of energy.

This week, Klopp told reporters, “Write what you want.” This was in response to a story that Virgil van Dijk wasn’t sure if he would stay on Merseyside after Klopp left. “This club is solid.” This is where the boys love to be. I’m sure of that.

Van Dijk was also quick to blow up the story. He said, “We want to do things that we dreamed of at the beginning of the season.” “Don’t get it wrong; I’m totally dedicated to the team, and I love every minute of being captain.”Before the game, Van Dijk got his team into a tight circle, and they stayed there for a while in a group that made it look like the captain was telling them that, despite all the talk and stress about the manager, this was now about them and their quest for another league title. It was time to get back to work.

At first, it looked like both teams didn’t want to add to the string of draws. The match was full of excitement. Darwin Nunez tried a risky lob over Djordje Petrovic, but the Chelsea goalkeeper caught it easily. He then fired a lightning-fast shot that left a billowing cloud of smoke behind it. Petrovic tipped that one over the bar.Nunez was shooting at everything he saw, and all of his shots were met with strong resistance, which showed that he is regaining the confidence that made him such a valuable player when Liverpool bought him.

Around the middle of the half, Ibrahima Konate sent a great pass that Nunez ran on to. He took the ball with his left foot this time and hit it over Petrovic. It was going to the far corner, but Petrovic dived and pushed it off the outside of the post with his desperate left hand.

Even though Liverpool put a lot of pressure on Chelsea, they created a great chance when Raheem Sterling, a Liverpool fan, passed the ball back to Conor Gallagher. That play was booed by the crowd the whole time.

Gallagher didn’t take the shot and instead tried to dribble past Van Dijk. He was hit by Van Dijk and fell. Chelsea asked for a penalty, but referee Paul Tierney and video assistant referees decided there wasn’t enough contact to give a penalty.

Liverpool got the goal they deserved in the middle of the half. Ben Chilwell lost the ball on the left side of the Chelsea field. Bradley ran forward and sped a pass to Diogo Jota 25 yards away.On the side of the Chelsea box, Benoit Badiashile and Thiago Silva were in front of Jota. Jumped with the ball on one foot and ran right through the middle of them. He got a lucky rebound when he pushed his way through, but Chelsea’s defense wasn’t even close to good enough, so Jota ran on and hit the ball past Petrovic.

Chelsea were having a hard time. Enzo Fernandez, who was terrible in the middle of the field, got a yellow card for a bad hit on Curtis Jones, who was moving too fast for him. Chilwell got a yellow card for a terrible dive as he tried to pass the ball around Konate.

Five minutes before halftime, Anfield was filled with joy as it saw its magic moment. Alexis Mac Allister got the ball in the middle of the field and passed it to Luiz Diaz. Bradley got there faster than the Chelsea defense, and Bradley’s shot went over Petrovic and into the far corner.

In the second minute of extra time at the end of the first half, Liverpool should have won the game for good. On the left side of the Chelsea area, Van Dijk received a driven pass on his chest and sent a cross toward the six-yard box with a shot.

It was Jota who did it first, then Badiashile who stood on the top of his foot, and Mr. Tierney who pointed to the spot. Mac Allister was ready to take it, but Nunez moved ahead of him. The kick from Nunez hit the left post and was deflected away for safety. At halftime, Mauricio Pochettino made some changes and put on Malo Gusto, Christopher Nkunku, and Mykhailo Mudryk to try to get his team going again. The move almost worked right away. Gusto broke down the right side of the field and sent a beautiful low cross to the back post. Mudryk was in a good spot with only Alisson to beat, but he shot with his left foot that went high over the bar.

Liverpool quickly got back to being the best team. Bradley’s work kept getting better, and Mac Allister’s power grew as well. A lot of Liverpool’s play was amazing. Dominik Szoboszlai made a crazy fake that set up Nunez for a nasty shot that Petrovic grabbed out of the air.

Then, in the middle of the half, Liverpool took away any last doubts about the outcome. Van Dijk sent a precise pass out to Bradley on the right side of the field. Bradley hit another cross with speed and accuracy, and Szoboszlai rose to head it home in front of the crowd.

Twenty minutes from the end, Nkunku scored a smart goal to get Chelsea back in the game. Nunez then hit the bar with a header, and Harvey Elliott’s shot was saved by Petrovic’s legs. Ten minutes from the end, Diaz ghosted in at the back post, grabbed a pass from Nunez, and slammed the ball home for Liverpool’s fourth goal.
